Tenement Street, Diggers Rest
This project at Lot 1806 Tenement Street, Diggers Rest comprises a well-considered subdivision development, delivering a new contemporary double-storey dwelling alongside an existing double-storey residence within an established suburban setting.
The design approach prioritises a clear architectural relationship between the new and existing homes, ensuring visual cohesion while allowing each dwelling to maintain its own identity. Built form is articulated through layered volumes, recessed upper levels, and a restrained material palette combining masonry, render, and dark-framed glazing to reduce perceived bulk and enhance streetscape integration.
Internally, the new dwelling is organised around generous open-plan living, dining, and kitchen spaces that maximise natural light and outlook, supported by flexible family zones and private outdoor areas. Upper-level accommodation is arranged to enhance privacy and separation from neighbouring dwellings.
Careful consideration has been given to setbacks, access, landscaping, and amenity to ensure the development responds sensitively to its context while achieving efficient site utilisation.
The project reflects NPDA’s commitment to design-led, approval-ready subdivision outcomes that balance density, liveability, and architectural clarity.
