82 Wood Street Preston

This project at 82 Wood Street, Preston comprises a contemporary multi-residential apartment development arranged over three levels above a basement car park, delivering a well-resolved urban infill response within an established residential streetscape.

The development accommodates eleven apartments supported by a fully integrated basement level providing secure car parking, storage, waste facilities, and vertical circulation via lift and stair core. Vehicular access is efficiently managed from the street, allowing the ground plane to prioritise pedestrian entry, landscaping, and residential amenity.

Apartment layouts are carefully planned to maximise internal efficiency, natural light, and access to private open space through balconies and terraces. A mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings is distributed across the building, with upper-level residences benefiting from increased separation, outlook, and enhanced privacy.

Architecturally, the building adopts a layered composition, with articulated façades, recessed balconies, and material variation used to break down scale and reduce perceived bulk. Vertical cladding, face brickwork, and framed balcony elements establish a contemporary architectural language while responding to neighbouring interfaces.

The proposal demonstrates a considered balance between density, amenity, and contextual responsiveness. It reflects NPDA’s approach to delivering approval-ready, design-driven apartment developments that prioritise liveability, efficient site utilisation, and long-term residential quality.
